Despite the advertisements on TV it has become common knowledge that high fructose corn syrup, even in moderation is bad for our health. The problem is that it is in so many processed foods that it is almost impossible to get it in moderation. Even the fruit juices that advertise no added sugar are high in fructose. Fruits and vegetables are meant to be eaten whole. The fiber and other nutrients in them help the body to metabolize the fructose slower, therefor having less impact on the body. Most Americans are not getting enough fruits and vegetables and should monitor rather than eliminate them.

published evidence that cardiovascular disease and diabetes risk is present in
the blood fractions of adolescents who consume a lot of fructose, a scenario
that worsens in the face of excess belly fat. Published in the Journal of
Nutrition, scientists determined that high dietary fructose consumption
results in lower levels of cardiovascular protectors such as HDL cholesterol and
adiponectin, due in part to how the body metabolizes the fruit-based

mid-section, a rapidly growing problem in adolescents, compounds the problem
when compared to those with less visceral fat deposits. A wealth of
