Dandruff
You may be wondering why I am writing an article on Dandruff. You may think that it really isn’t something that Enriching Gifts Plant Enzymes can help. And you would be right. The Plant Enzymes can’t directly affect dandruff. They can boost your immune system so your body can fight this irritating problem along with all other issues that affect your health, but I am not going to try to snow you by saying if you have dandruff you need enzymes. That just wouldn’t be ethical.
Dandruff is a scalp condition that causes itching and flaking of the skin on our heads. In babies we call it cradle cap. Some new mothers are given creams and ointments to rub on the baby’s head. Others are told to rub olive oil or baby oil on the head. In my opinion it is the rubbing that finally gets rid of it as much as the other things. In adults it is a different matter.
Although almost everyone has had dandruff to one degree or another at least once in their lifetime there doesn’t seem to be a consensus as to the cause. Some people claim that it is a fungal infection, while others think it is more of an allergic reaction to the fungus. The one thing that is agreed upon is that things that stress the immune systems seem to make it worse. Those can include, stress fatigue, poor hygiene, obesity, ageing, AIDS, and Parkinson’s disease. Environmental issues that seem to make it worse are oily skin, and lotions that contain alcohol.
There are many shampoos and conditioners on the market for people with dandruff. In some cases these cures may be worse than the problem itself. I say that because many of these products contain chemicals that can be absorbed through the scalp and cause some severe long term problems. Diethanolamine and triethanolamine are two such chemicals. They are used as emulsifiers and/or foaming agents. They are considered toxic, especially if they come in contact with nitrates in the body. They can cause cancer and other problems for the liver, kidneys and pancreas. Another chemical found in some antifungal shampoos would be Diazolidinl Urea or Imadazolidinyl Urea. This can cause contact dermatitis and some severe allergic reactions. A third source of problems is found in almost 90% of the shampoos on the market. This is Sodium Laryl or Luareth Suflate. This is again a foaming agent that is usually made from petroleum, but can also be made from coconuts. Both forms are just as harmful. This can cause symptoms of dandruff, skin irritations, hair loss, damage to your immune system, blindness, cataracts, and is a potential link to cancer.
These chemicals can be scary, so if you do have dandruff what can you do. First of all find a good, gentle shampoo that doesn’t have the above ingredients, that’s the hard part. Secondly, get the Enriching Gifts Lightning Colloidal Silver. Mix about an ounce with 16 ounces of filtered water. Use it as a final rinse when you shampoo, don’t rinse it out. I mix mine with a rosemary tea to enhance my dark hair color. The silver will kill any fungus or bacteria that is causing your itching and flaking. It also leaves your hair soft, silky and shiny. An ounce ought to last you at least a week, so we are not looking at a large expense here. Used for just this a 32oz bottle of silver will last almost a full year, but once you have it on hand you will find multiple uses for this product.
